Internet is full of motivational stuff to pursue your passion. But no one talks about how to know what your passion really is.

You are not alone if you don’t know what your passion really is. Multiple times I found myself listening to great speeches and techniques on why and how one should really follow ones passion. While I agreed with everything but I still didn’t gain anything from that as I had the basic thing missing i.e. what is my passion?

In my opinion if you know what your passion is, you don’t need much motivation to follow it and it will happen. The real focus should be on finding the one and no one talks about that.

Let me tell you 3 basic but very effective techniques:

  1. Let’s start with a very simple technique which is basically go try out something. If it does not work out, at least you have one less thing to pursue. If you don’t know what you like, start eliminating things you don’t like and you basically start reducing your options. Also you don’t have to try something big, start with baby steps. If you think you might like gardening, find an easy plant to grow for beginners and see if you can manage that. If you want to try cooking, start with a very simple recipe. You can see where I am going with this.
  2. Other mistake that most of us make is to give up too early. Don’t judge your first attempt on anything on an expert scale. May be you didn’t do a perfect job today but eventually you will. More important thing to look for is whether you had fun or not. If you had fun then don’t worry about results today and I guarantee you that better results will come.
  3. Finally don’t give up something just because you don’t see a market value yet. Exceptional results and new opportunities will be created when efforts are done for inner satisfaction and in true pursuit of your passion.
